Legend Series (Finally)

This series was absolutely amazing.  You fall in love with the characters as you go along with them on there never-ending adventure of horror, love, sadness, and friendship.  These books make you feel as if the characters were part of your life.  I cannot tell you how much I liked these books!  Day and June are amazing as they go through so much.  This books will constantly put you on edge of your seat, and sometimes make you want to through throw the book across the room or say no as you cry your eyes out, but they are such good books and I highly recommend them.  Amazing job for your first books Marie Lu! (I hope I get the opportunity to meet you)

I know I have read a lot of great books lately (I guess it has been luck) but I find that each new story I fall in love with it for a different reason.  Sometimes the characters or what the characters go through and how they come out from it or just the whole story line, but no matter what book I read I find that I fall in love with all the books I read for several different reasons.

It is summer now (YAY!!!!), and I plan to read a lot this summer, so please keep checking in.  Hope you have a great summer and keep reading!

P.S. I wish I could have done a video for these books, but I am on vacation so I don't have access to a video camera.  I may still make a video on these books when I get home so stay posted!

The Acsendance Trilogy

Summary first, then I will tell you my thoughts.  This series starts out with a boy of the age 14 and he is an orphan whose name is Sage.  He is then taken with a few other orphans with a man who is planning on making one of them the prince who has been missing from there country of Carthya and assumed dead.  The series starts from there and goes on from there.

This series has taken me on an amazing journey that I will not soon forget.  It is definitely one of my favorite trilogies I have read.  After you read it the characters will stick in your head and what they went through will be too.  You will constantly be put on the edge of your seat while reading it and I just fell in love with all the characters. I highly recommend these books (as you can already notice)!  I cannot tell you how much I adore these books now.  Extraordinary job Jennifer A. Nielson with these books and someday I hope to meet you to tell you how much I loved your books!

I have also learned a lesson that is pretty valued in the reading world: not everyone likes the same books that you do.  Sometimes your favorite book is someone's least favorite, but that is okay because everyone has different tastes and what really matters is that you got to go on an adventure that will always be held in the pages of that book that you love that you can experience over and over again.  This is a very hard lesson, trust me on that, but it is a very great lesson to learn as you go on reading books.

Now I am going to start reading the Legend trilogy and after I finish it I promise I will right a review! ( I literally just finished the last book of the Ascendance trilogy like five minutes ago, so I promise I will write a review as soon as I get time after I finish this new series)

Please keep watching and please write comments on books that I should read and add to my never ending reading list ;)

Books, Books, and Even More Books

Okay, I know I have not posted in awhile, but that is because I just bought two new series and I need to read them both.  Before I tell you what the series are I want you to know that I have a never ending reading list, and I am not joking it never ends.

Anyway, the first series I got was the Ascendance trilogy.  It consists of The False Prince, The Runaway King, and The Shadow Throne (which just came out last month).  I read the first and second one about a year ago, and I adored them.  They are great reads, but rereading them I fell in love with them all over again.  I can't wait to finish the whole series.

The second series I bought is the Legend trilogy.  I have already read the first one, but it was awhile ago so I am going to read the trilogy again after I read the Ascendance trilogy.  I loved the first book, it was very fast paced and one that makes you want to stay up all night reading.

I promise I will do a book review after I finish both series (which won't take very long :) ), so please keep checking up.

The Maze Runner Series

I read the Maze Runner series, by James Dashner, last year and I fell in love with the whole idea of it.  I just kept forgetting to review it.  I finally decided to when the trailer for the movie came out yesterday.  Okay here it goes.....

This book is dystopian fiction (you might be able to tell I like those kind of books).   It starts off about a boy who is sent a maze with a bunch of other boys.  All of them can't remember anything except for their name.  They are constantly searching for a way out, and one day a girl gets sent up into the maze and everything changes.  It is a great series that makes you laugh, smile, and of course cry.  It consists of The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The death Cure, and the prequel, The Kill Order.  These are great books that I highly recommend before the movie comes out.

I also wanted to mention that James Dashner is an amazing author.  I had the privilage of meeting him and he is a really cool author.  If you want to check out his website it is, jamesdashner.com .  He also has a new series, The Mortality Doctrine, only the first one, Eye of Minds, is out, but the second one comes out this fall along with the Maze Runner movie.  Of course I have read it and it is an excellent book, also.

(If you didn't know I absolutely adore movies also, so I might put some movies that were based on books.  Like Divergent, which comes out Friday!!!  Can't wait!!  I recently just finished it and am halfway through the second one.  When I finish the series I will write the review.  ;)  )

Just for fun I am going to put the Maze Runner preview on here.  I was having a panic attack waiting for it so I hope you Enjoy it as much as I did!

Divergent series review will be coming soon!!

Amazing Video!

Every book lover should watch this video!  I absolutely fell in love with it when my teach show edit to our class one day.  I know it is long and can get a little wired at times, but just keep watching.  You will understand why I like it so much after you are done watching it.  :)  (Plus it won an Oscar)

Update

I am so sorry I have not posted in a while.  School has been very busy and I have tons to write about.  I have read almost four books since my last post.

One of the books I have read was, Gone, by Micheal Grant.  This book is a first in its six book series and I thought I would give it a try.  It is dystopian fiction, but it has connections to things right now.  It is about a town in California in which everybody over the age of fifteen disappears.  And it is about how they survive and how animals start mutating and people start to get powers.  It is a good read if you want something a little on the creepy side.  I am actually in the middle of the second one, Hunger, and it's good so far.  And oh yes, this book is a very clean read with not much bad language in it. (which is probably why I like it so much)

Another book I read was, I am Number Four, and it was another one of those dystopian fiction/ sci- fi kind of books. It was a very fast read that kind of left me on an edge.  At one point I almost stopped reading it because of the bad language, but overall it was a great story.  There is a movie, but I have not seen it and I am not planning to either.  If you're desperate for a book then this might be a good choice or if you don't mind bad language.

I also got to meet Patricia Polacco, an amazing childrens book author.  She has written over 55 books including, Thank you, Mr. Falker, Pink and Say, The Keeping Quilt, My Older Rotton Red-Headed Brother, and mammy many more. She is so amazing because she has four very impacting, learning dissabilities.  She was constantly bullied in school, but still she became one of the most beloved picture book author in the world.  Something cool about her books is that she illustrates and writes every one of her books.  She constantly inspires people, and I am so lucky to get a chance to be able to tell her.  Being able to hear her speak and read one of her books was absolutely amazing.  Another thing that's cool is that she signed, Thank you, Mr. Falker, for me.

I will try to keep writing when I get time and I hope that you keep checking up on my blog.
